RICHARD H. MARCUS received his law decree from DePaul University in June of 1975. He has been licensed to practice law in State of Illinois and the Federal District Court since October of 1975.

Since his admission to the bar, he has practiced primarily in the area of family law. His experience in family law includes but is not limited to dissolution of marriage, child support, paternity, and custody matters. He also serves as a court appointed child’s representative or guardian ad litem seeking a disposition in the best interests of the children in divorce and paternity matters. He also was appointed an Adjunct Professor and Director of the Family Law Clinic of Chicago-Kent College of Law. There he supervised student interns and a staff attorney on case work in pending court cases. Additionally, he instructed students as to related professional skills in a classroom setting.

Further, he has practiced in both State and Federal Appellate Courts. He also has experience in the areas of bankruptcy, real estate, wills and trusts, and general litigation in state and federal courts.

He has represented numerous not-for-profit corporations and associations including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Travelers Aid Association of America, The Hebrew Benevolent Society of Chicago, and the Hemophilia Foundation of Illinois.

Further he has served as President of the Wilmette Park District for three (3) consecutive terms, elected Wilmette Park District Commissioner in 1997, 2001, and 2005, served as general counsel and board member of the Hebrew Benevolent of Chicago, served as Vice-President and board member of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, served as board member of the Hemophilia Foundation of Illinois, and served as board member of the Youth Resource Foundation of Wilmette.
